I know that there’s plenty of time ahead till the holiday season is in its full swing but I can already see the X-Mass decoration in shops (I still can’t get used to this). I also know that some of you have already started doing the first preparations for Christmas, which in most cases focuses on calculating the spending and arranging the presents for the beloved ones. My sister, for example, wants to gift everyone with warm scarves, socks and gloves that she will knit herself. Actually, she has started knitting already and this is how she jollies herself up in the evenings. If you too value the presents that require putting a little bit of effort and heart – not only money – into them then I’m sure that a homemade cosmetic that smells wonderful and delivers incredible effects will interest you.
Here is a beautiful, coffee-infused idea for gift – Coffee massage bar 🙂
You will need the following ingredients:
- 4 spoons cocoa butter
- 1 spoon coffee butter
- 1 spoon vanilla butter (or alternatively you can reach for 2 spoons of Shea or cocoa butter)
- 1 spoon shea butter
- silicone muffin cups of any shape you want; I use the classic muffin cups because later, when put into paper cups, they get even more beautiful
- coffee beans
Coffee massage bar DIRECTIONS
I put all the ingredients in a glass, porcelain or any other type of bowl that doesn’t melt when put into warm water (therefore avoid plastic bowl). Put this bowl into a bigger bowl filled with hot water and wait until the butters melt. Once you can mix the butters, pour them into the muffin cups but remember to leave some room for the coffee beans. When you see that your butter blend starts getting solid, add the coffee beans. They won’t sink but remain on the surface. Of course, you can start from placing the beans in the cups first and then pour them over with hot butter blend. But in this way the person who receives the gift won’t see the beans. In my view, this option is less attractive.
You can put your coffee muffins in a fridge to help them get hard quicker. Then, you have to ‘free’ the coffee massage bars from the silicone cups and pack them into cellophane. Decorate with a ribbon. However, I prefer putting the bars into some nice-looking paper muffin cups. In this way, the bars look definitely better – more tasty so to say – and I’m sure that a receiver will be delighted.
Of course, I shouldn’t skip telling you a few things about the benefits of using coffee massage bars. Your homemade cosmetic is perfect for treating skin affected by cellulite, that is rough and dehydrated skin. The presence of precious cosmetic butters makes skin moisturized, smoothed, it improves the resilience, helps skin regain its lost shine. Also, the butters used protect skin against irritation. I can’t stress this enough – coffee deals with cellulite therefore you should advice the person you give the D.I.Y. massage bar to use it on tights, belly, calves and biceps 🙂
If you feel like, you can enrich your coffee massage bars with other substances (e.g. essential oils) or replace coffee beans with some other ingredients. Personally, I often use coarse-grain Himalayan salt since it’s good at exfoliating dead skin cells.
Do you like my idea for D.I.Y. gift? Do you know other similar recipes for such presents? Please, share 🙂
